Every year, the traditional fishing festival 'Sardellata al Chiar di Luna' is held in Garda on the Regina Adelaide promenade and in the gardens of the Palazzo dei Congressi in honour of Lake Garda sardine.

This year Garda celebrates the "Sardellata" Sardinia-Fischfest on 3 days from 11:00 to 23:00, where the culinary tradition of freshwater fish is at stake. This traditional festival has its origins in the lake's sardine fishery. It is a reinterpretation of the ancient tradition of fish consumption, especially sardines, in the night of the full moon in July on the boats at the sunken mountain Vo for Garda, where particularly many fish occur and thus the existence of many families was guaranteed for years. The excess catch was immediately prepared for coal and eaten on the boats.

It is therefore a feast that combines the culinary tradition of Lake Garda with the history of fishing, which has ensured the survival of many families for centuries. It is also becoming increasingly popular with tourists, which is certainly due to the many delicious dishes.
