Giovanni Segantini - Exhibition - Arco

The Civic Gallery G. Segantini di Arco, named after the Divisionist painter Giovanni Segantini (Arco, 1858 - Schafberg, 1899), is housed in the Palazzo dei Panni, built by Giovambattista d'Arco towards the end of the 17th century.

With the Segantini and Arco project, the MAG and Mart intend to contribute to the enhancement of the city of Arco as a place for Segantini through exhibition and research activities, with the aim of positioning the city of Giovanni Segantini's birth at the centre of an international circuit that includes museums and public institutions around the world that own works by the artist.

In the rooms of the Galleria Civica G. Segantini, the exhibition consists of a traditional exhibition part with paintings, graphic works and historical documents on the artist, and an interactive part.

The exhibition display opens with the Segantini Map, an interactive station that allows you to query all the public collections in the world that own works by Segantini, navigate the sites of these museums and view full screen masterpieces of the artist kept there.

Segantini Doc are workstations that use multitouch technology to offer tools and materials that help to reconstruct Segantini's artistic career by framing it in the contemporary cultural context of the artist.

In the spaces of the Galleria Civica G. Every year Segantini produces a temporary exhibition on Segantini's themes and a room is set up where the museum version of the film "Segantini, ritorno alla natura" by Francesco Fei, Federica Masin and Roberta Bonazza, with Filippo Timi, is shown.
