Due to the many sporting possibilities, Lake Garda is a paradise for sportsman and all who like to do sports during their time off. Lake Garda is some kind of sleeper amongst hikers. The unique geographical position between the Alps and the Po Plain offers a beautiful nature.

The varied nature at Lake Garda fascinates many people. You start at your campsite, hotel or holiday apartment within Mediterranean vegetation and at the end of your hiking tour you can marvel at the flora and fauna and the amazing panorama of the Alps. During the hiking tour you can discover the long and exciting history of the regions around Lake Garda. Especially the northern part of Lake Garda offers well prepared hiking routes with different difficulty levels. The Alpinist association is looking after routes and marks them to give better orientation for non-locals. The many huts next to the hiking routes offer fare and the possibility to spend a night. Therefore longer hiking trips are possible.

The most famous hiking spots

The Monte Baldo is one of the most popular hiking spots at Lake Garda. The mountain has a height of 2.000 meters and is located at the eastern part of Lake Garda. A ropeway is leading to the peak of the mountain from where you have an amazing view over Lake Garda and the region. Many ways are leading back to the lake.
